Homemade I Spy* Bags
This year for Valentines Day (or Friendship Day as it is called in my son's school) my boys and I decided to do something different instead of the same old cards, stickers, pencils or candy. For my preschool son, we will be making homemade playdoh for his classmates. My older son is in 2nd grade, we decided to make Homemade I Spy* bags, he is super excited to hand them out and I think his classmates will really like them!
Here's what you need to make 1 bag:
1 Ziploc* Heavy Duty Freezer Bag
2 C Rice
Glitter - Optional
Tacky Glue
16" of 1 1/2" Ribbon
Packing Tape
Postcard
small items to "Find"
In our bags, we put 16 small items for the kids to find: Star, letter, washer, penny, pom pom, snowflake, snowman, lego, bead, marshmallow, puzzle piece, safety pin, paper clip, googly eye, button, and present sticker.

Put the item to "find" in the bag first, then add 2 cups of uncooked rice, sprinkle with glitter if wanted.

I printed out the list of items to find on a postcard and then taped it over the "Ziploc" logo using packing tape. Let the air out of the bag and reseal, this makes it a little more challenging to find all the items.

Next, after you have sealed the bag, put a line of glue on the top of the bag, to keep it closed. Now, glue the ribbon.

Wrap it around the top of the bag.

Wrap around, press down and wait for it to dry.

After everything is dry, shake the bag around and let the kids find all the items! Have Fun.
