Grandma's Sugar Cookies
I am fortunate to have come from a long line of wonderful cooks! Both of my Grandmothers were / are outstanding. My 97 yr. old Grandmother still cooks & bakes on almost a daily basis. They each have their own Sugar Cookie Recipe, this is my Grandma Schneider's recipe, we love them at this house and hope you do too!

1 C Granulated Sugar
1 C Powdered Sugar
1 C Butter - softened
1 C Oil (I use Canola)
2 Eggs (Large)
1 t Cream of Tarter
1 t Baking Soda
1 t Salt
1 t Vanilla
4 C + 2 T Flour
Cream together the sugar & butter. Add eggs, vanilla & oil, beat again. Sift together flour, cream of tarter, baking soda, salt - add to batter and beat well. Put in the refrigerator for 2 hours to chill. Remove from refrigerator, preheat oven to 375*. Drop by teaspoon on baking sheet, flatten with a glass dipped in sugar (wet the bottom of glass and dip in sugar). Bake until edges are browned 5 - 7 minutes.
*Note: I use a Polish Pottery Cutting Board to bake cookies.
Enjoy!
