Sunday's in Poland

It is Sunday morning and I am taking just a short minute away from my family to tell you about Sunday's in Poland.  My husband & I lived in Warsaw, Poland for 2 years, it was a fantastic experience.  There are quite a few things I miss about living there:  the flower market, the bread truck, the parks, just to mention a few.

While living in Poland, Sunday's were my favorite day, church and relaxation.  This was always  the way it was for me growing up, my family would go to church together and then lunch and hanging out together, no work.  In today's fast paced society, this ritual seems to have fallen by the wayside, which is sad.

A typical Sunday in Poland was different.  Families would attend church together, then lunch at home, afterwards they would head to one of the many parks to "stroll", feed the pigeons, let the children play and then enjoy an ice cream cone.  It was multiple generations, grandparents, parents, children all enjoying each others company, relaxing, laughing and talking.  This is a typical Sunday, not just special occasions.  I used to love watching all the families enjoying each others company.

I think it is sad that in the USA, we have lost all of these wonderful family traditions, we are so fast paced, it is hard to slow down and enjoy.  For me personally, I am so glad that I was able to experience this in Poland, I keep it close in my heart and try to relax with my family as often as possible.

I hope you will take time to slow down and enjoy all the blessings of family, friends and relax.........
