Go Go Kabongo Review

As most of you know, first and foremost, I am a Mother to 2 amazing, active, wonderful boys! Ages 3 & 7. This week I "hired" them to review a website: Go Go Kabongo To say they were thrilled is an understatement!
Me: Boys, would you do me a favor and review a website?
Them: What website?
Me: It's a kids website to help with reading, games and more
Them: When can we start?
They immediately headed to the office to get started on their work. We logged onto the website to "ooohhs" and "aahhs". I asked what they were so excited about - "The colors are bright and fun" - whew, we are off to a good start. Let me explain here - my "review staff" are computer game wizards - so for them to be excited about the colors used is a huge plus!
After logging in, the first thing they noticed was the characters, my older son mentioned how much he liked it so far, I laughed and said "What do you mean, you haven't even started yet?" He answered "The characters are happy, smiling and laughing - I really like that, it makes me happy". He was right, I had not paid that close of attention and I'm glad he pointed it out to me!
Onto creating an Avatar - this was just plain hysterical to the 3 year old - he laughed so hard I thought he was going to pee his pants! The funny faces, outfits and feet just made them both laugh while they created quite a few before settling on a 3 eyed. roller skating, karate ninja (that's what they called him).

Game Time: First stop was Galaxy Garden - there are 3 games within the category. Each teaching letters, sequencing & listening skills - How Awesome is that??? As if that isn't wonderful enough, at the end of each game, the child is then taken to another page to "pick a prize" either a part for their Skateboard Park, Sticker Collection or items to create a comic book. They loved picking the prizes, especially for the skateboard park. There are 3 categories: Galaxy Garden, Twister Top & Laughter Lake. The characters are encouraging & funny (and not annoying).
I let my "review team" play for an hour last night and they weren't one bit bored - the games were fun, they loved building different skate board parks and just felt happy playing - all the while they were learning.
Today my oldest son is home sick and what did he ask to do? Go to the Kabongo website and play again. I took this as a good sign that the website is engaging enough even for a 7 year old. I noticed that the Kabongo team is also working on another website for older kids and my son is ALREADY excited to try out Skatekids!
For the parents: There is a tab that includes printable sheets, a chart to follow their progress, articles - everything right at your fingertips.
In our household, my review team gave Kabongo 2 Thumbs Up and I agree!
Go Go to Kabongo today and watch your child learn!

This is great, Leah. You always make me laugh. I think you only gained access to the free portion of the site for your review, though. There are NINE games in total and if you refer others right now, you can get more games for free: http://blog.kabongo.com/kabongo-news-invite-friends-get-more-online-kids-games/. So your boys might be thrilled to learn they have more games coming, eh?
Also - your readers can access free games by entering LEARN, after joining the free portion of the site. Whoot!

Great review, I laughed out-loud when you mentioned you thought he would pee in his pants! Hope your eldest child feels better. You sure he didn't stay home just to play on Kabongo! Great Review Team you should hire them out more

I think the oldest son is suffering with Allergies and needed a "Mental Health Day". He has been in school for 6 weeks already - he will go back tomorrow all rested and ready to tackle the day.
The younger son is just full of life - he thinks life itself is funny. You can't help but smile when you are around him.
I'm thinking we might do a review part 2 of the new Skatekids site by Kabongo too for the older kids. My review team has been busy today!!
