Is cheap better?

In an age of "extreme couponing", "hoarders" and other reality shows, is cheap always better?  We live in a society where we are always looking for a deal - don't get me wrong, I love a good deal!  But, I was raised in a household where "you get what you pay for" was the motto.  My parents were willing to spend more money to get quality items, I am the same way.

Discounts - In my opinion, educating people on products and services is more important then constantly offering sales.  If all your business does is run sale after sale after sale - why would anyone pay full price when they can just wait a day or two for the next sale?  To offer a discount on special occasions is much more effective, especially on quality products.

Social Media:  - I've had my business Peacock Pottery listed on various social media outlets for over a year now.  My numbers, fans, etc. are very consistent, would I like them to be larger?  Sure, who wouldn't, am I happy with the fans I have?  Absolutely! - Slow and Steady wins the race, right?

Cheap vs. Quality - I use my social media outlets to show pictures of the pottery, give ideas on how to use it, recipes etc.  I want to educate my fans on how wonderful, beautiful, unique, durable etc. that Polish Pottery is - pure Quality.  These products are unlike anything they will find in their local Walmart - these will last a lifetime and not end up in the landfill.

Sometimes it is better to look beyond the coupons and 75% off discounts and purchase quality instead of quantity.  I am glad that I spent money on my Polish Pottery dishes and bakeware, they are outlasting any other dishes in my house!
