Music & the WAHM

I love Music - all kinds - Rock, Alternative, Classic, Gospel, Blues, Pop - you name I probably like it.  So what does music have to do with the WAHM?  Do you ever find yourself stressed out while working at home?  Do you know what de-stresses you?  There are 3 things in life that de-stress me - Mountains, Rivers & Music.  Since going to the Mountains and River is about 2 hours away, I can't go on a daily basis - but I can listen to Music every day.  Depending on the day, my music preferences change.   Do you play music while you work?

I have been surrounded by music my whole life, as a child, one of my fondest memories was walking into the house after school and hearing my mom playing music on the stereo.  Whenever I hear "Dancing Queen" by ABBA, I will always think of my Mom!  Music is in my soul.

As a WAHM, there are distractions everyday - kids, dog, household duties, etc.  some days I can get extremely stressed out.  I find that if I am stressed out while trying to work on my website, fulfill orders, take pictures, the end result is dismal.  Inevitably something goes wrong and I end up working twice as hard.   So my answer?  You guessed it - Music.

If I play music while working, my stress level goes down, my mood lightens and I am more productive.  The kids love to listen to music while playing, which I have also discovered that there is less fighting when music is playing.  All good things.

So crank up the music, sing and dance along and find out how much smoother your day will go!

I LOVE music, too. When I really need to focus on writing a post or article, I need silence. Otherwise, I have music playing, also. My kids love to sing LOUDLY and dance around, pretending to be animals or dancers. It's great fun. I love watching my kids laugh!

Thanks for the comment.  I don't mind having music on when I write, but I do switch to piano music - something soothing and I don't end up writing the lyrics in my posts!
