Polish Flower Market's - I miss them...
I love flowers! Almost all of the bushes in our yard are the flowering type, we have 6 rose bushes - yep - I like flowers! Now, I'm sure you are wondering why I am talking about my love of flowers, well here is the story!
My husband and I moved to Poland in December of 2001, right before Christmas to a city where it snows (quite different from AZ), although I'm originally from the midwest - I don't like snow. Anyway, my husbands job took us to Warsaw, Poland. Since my husbands office was in the "Centrum" (downtown) of Warsaw, that is where we decided to live, that way I would be able to walk to the stores etc. We found a great "Flat" (apartment) not too far from his office, which made me happy. One of my first days of exploring the new neighborhood, I made a wonderful discovery - The Flower Market!
The Flower Market was unlike anything I had ever seen. It was 2 FULL city blocks of individual Flower Stands, which were open all 365 days of the year! Oh yes, that meant Fresh flowers even during the cold, snowy WINTER! The flowers were inexpensive and they had exotic flowers that I had never seen in the states. They had nice arrangements or just fresh cut bunches to mix and match. One of my first purchases in Warsaw was a Vase and it was full of flowers almost weekly!
The following May, my parents came to visit. If it is possible, my Mother loves flowers even more than I do! Between the 2 of us, we had 4 vases of flowers scattered around our apartment!
Since flowers are much more expensive in the USA, I don't treat myself as often. One of the things I miss most about our time in Warsaw is the flower market. Maybe we should start one in Phoenix................
If you ever find yourself in Warsaw, Poland - be sure to check out the Flower Market!

How lovely that would be to have flowers 365 out of the year.
The markets sound quaint and lovely!
